Reasons for using Workgroups

If you are interested in using EnterpriseSCHEDULE to do any of the following, you can use the powerful Workgroup facility. By definition a Workgroup is more than one server or workstation running the EnterpriseSCHEDULE server with TCP/IP (or in the case of OpenVMS DECnet) communication enabled.

  1. You want to run jobs on multiple machines - distribute the workload
  2. You want to balance the load across machines
  3. You want to distribute your work across a lot of nodes
  4. You want to run jobs on all of your nodes
  5. You want to run jobs in a round robin fashion across a lot of nodes
  6. You want to distribute your jobs database across nodes
  7. You want to replicate your jobs database across nodes
