Startup

The startup file determines the way MOTIF layouts appears at startup. In addition to normal file operations such as cut, copy, paste, delete etc., a startup file's contents may be changed from the Job Explorer by choosing Properties... from the right click menu. Startup files may be dragged between folders (of the same category). You may also double click on a startup file in the Explorer to open it in the main window.

In order to work with startup files in the Job Explorer,

  1. Click on a folder
  2. Right click on the desired startup file.
  3. Select the operation from the drop down menu.

Edit the startup file definition

Cut

Cut the startup file in the Explorer

Copy

Copy the startup file in the Explorer

Paste

Paste the startup file to the current folder

Delete

Delete the startup file permanently

Rename

Rename the startup file

Properties

View the startup file

In order to edit or view the text file that makes up a startup file, right click on the startup file in the Job Explorer and select Properties.... A display similar to the following will appear.

Startup files can be edited if desired.

In order to edit the startup file file:

  1. Click on the Edit button in the startup file property page.
  2. Edit the startup file file.
  3. Choose File>Save from the main menu bar.
