Modifying the New job from... menu

To view available templates right-click on a in a Folder or in a Layout. The list of prototype jobs displayed next to the New job from... menu. It is build up by a search process.

The following job prototypes are searched for:

/default/proto_*

/default/*/proto_*

/current_topdir/proto_*

/current_topdir/current_subdir/proto_*

Out of each of these jobs the Job Comment or Job Description field is used to construct the menu that is displayed. In the composed menu each group of prototypes found is separated by a line. The below menu was composed on a Windows server:

If a prototype job does not have a Description then the full path name of the job is placed in the menu list. Submenus are created by adding ":" colons at appropriate places in the description. For an example the Delete files prototype job has as its description Other: Delete Files.

The menu is cached inside the application so if you make a change or addition that should appear on this menu select another directory for you test. This will force the cached menu to be reset.
