Delete a directory (delete/directory or rmdir)

The DELETE command permanently removes a directory from the on-line database.

Windows/OpenVMS Format:

delete/directory directory_name [/qualifiers]

UNIX/Linux Format:

rmdir directory_name [-qualifiers]

Qualifier Summary

General Qualifiers:

/[no]log or -[no]log

/[no]confirm or -[no]confirm

/node or -node = target_node

Examples

Windows:

Schedule> delete/directory \tsmith\ref\ /confirm

Delete \tsmith\ref\ [y/n] (y): yes

OpenVMS:

Schedule> delete/directory [tsmith.ref] /confirm

Delete [tsmith.ref] [y/n] (y): yes

UNIX/Linux:

Schedule> rmdir /tsmith/ref/ -confirm

Delete /tsmith/ref/ [y/n] (y): yes

Qualifiers


/[no]confirm or -[no]confirm

CONFIRM requests that the user be prompted prior to any operation to verify that the selected entry is the correct one.

/hostname or -node =hostname

The qualifier specifies what node (either local or remote) you want the operation performed on.

/[no]log or -[no]log

The LOG qualifier causes each completed operation to issue a note to the user.
