Copy a job (copy/job or cpjob)

Copy a schedule job definition.

The COPY command will copy an entire job definition into another name. All aspects of a job are copied including all lists. This includes all the entries on the prerequisite list, initiate list, command list and all other lists.

Windows/OpenVMS Format:

copy/job source_job new_job_name [/qualifiers]

UNIX/Linux Format:

cpjob source_job new_job_name [-qualifiers]

Qualifier Summary

/[no]log or -[no]log

/[no]confirm or -[no]confirm

/node or -node = target_node

/[no]check or -[no]check

Examples

Windows:

Schedule> copy/job schedule_a schedule_b /confirm

copy \skapur\schedule_a to \skapur\schedule_b [y/n] ? (y):

OpenVMS:

Schedule> copy/job schedule_a schedule_b /confirm

copy [skapur]schedule_a to [skapur]schedule_b [y/n] ? (y):

UNIX/Linux:

Schedule> cpjob schedule_a schedule_b -confirm

copy /skapur/schedule_a to /skapur/schedule_b [y/n] ? (y):

Qualifiers

/[no]confirm or -[no]confirm

CONFIRM requests that the user be prompted prior to any operation to verify that the selected entry is the correct one.

/hostname or -node =hostname

The qualifier specifies what node (either local or remote) you want the operation performed on.

/[no]log or -[no]log

The LOG qualifier causes each completed operation to issue a note to the user.

/[no]check or -[no]check

The NOCHECK qualifier disables the CHECK whether or not a provided prerequisite or initiate list makes references to any non-existent jobs.
