Chapter 1
Installing EnterpriseSCHEDULE for Windows

This chapter briefly describes the installation of the EnterpriseSCHEDULE for Windows software package. The software is available as a client only package for controlling, monitoring and administering OpenVMS, Linux, Sun Solaris and HP-UX based scheduling servers. It is also available as a client/server package for Windows based scheduling servers.

1.1 Installing the EnterpriseSCHEDULE client/server using the downloaded executable

To download the EnterpriseSCHEDULE setup programs:

  1. Log onto support.i-s-e.com using the supplied username and password (you may obtain a username and password by contacting ISE at 310-643-7310).
  2. Select Windows Downloads from the ISE Downloads menu and then choose either the client/server or the client alone depending on your installation.
  3. Download the file to a temp directory.
  4. To install EnterpriseSCHEDULE, log in as Administrator and double click on the setup program.
  5. The installation program will prompt you for the serial number provided with the demo.

Note

For a more detailed description of the EnterpriseSCHEDULE installation process, see the Quick Start Guides provided with your kit. The Quick Start Guides are available for the Windows client/server and for the individual remote servers.

Special Note for new installations: Schedule comes pre-installed with a history maintenance job that runs under the Administrator user id called \Schedule_maintenance\auto_history_purge. This job will fail with an error until an Administrator User record is created. There is a one time step needed to complete the installation. Start a client connection to the Schedule server while logged in as "Administrator" to automatically create the Administrator User record. (Another option is to change the jobs owner id to another User with Administrator privilege.)

1.2 Licensing EnterpriseSCHEDULE

The license may be added using one of two methods:

a. Using the EnterpriseSCHEDULE License Manager

After installing EnterpriseSCHEDULE, go to Start > All Programs > EnterpriseSCHEDULE > License Manager. Click on the Server tab and enter the name of the server node in the Server node field. Enter the Group Number (usually 0). First time EnterpriseSCHEDULE installations should use the following Username/Password:

Username: isemanager

Password: ISElogin

Enter the Company Name and Serial number you received from ISE (usually a Demo PAS) and click Apply to add the License. Click the Refresh button to activate the License.

Note

Upon your first login using the isemanager Private User account, you will be asked to change your password for security purposes. Enter a password of at least 6 characters to log in.

b. Manually editing the License file

Edit the file

C:\Program Files(x86)\ISE\EnterpriseSCHEDULE\sch0_license.dat
