M A.6 MCL controls
F Several logicals are used by the basic MCL system to control # its operations they are list below.
D - SYS$LANGUAGE - This defines the language setting to use. The H default language is ENGLISH. The following languages are known to the H system, Austrian, Canadian (French), Danish, Dutch, English, Finnish, J French, German, Italian, Norwegian, Portuguese, Spanish, Swedish, Swiss G French and Swiss German. For each to be fully operational a complete = phrase translation table must be present. This is the file J MCL_LIBRARY:MCLPHR.language. Please check with your provider which ones ) have been included in the distribution. H
- MCL_SYD_MESSAGE_PAUSE - This defines the interval which messages E are left on the screen. This is used by all displays that bring up momentary notes.H
- MCL_SYD_KEYBOARD_STYLE - This defines the keyboard style to use. J The two known values are DECforms and DCL. The difference is in how the H following keys behave when used in a form, tab, backspace, return and do. I
- MCL_SYD_MENU_CLASS - This logical contains a list of letters. The G default is all letters except "D". These letters are used to control D which menu items will appear in the various menus. For example, a 8 letter "S" designates all SCHEDULE functions.I
- MCL_SYD_MENU_GROUP - This logical contains a list of letters. The H default is "V" for a VT type terminal and "X" for a DECwindow device. H This is used to modify the appearance of all menus to take in account $ the type of display hardware used.J
- MCL_UTL_EDIT_NAME - This defines which editor is to be called. For B a VT type of terminal either EDT or TPU can be specified. For a 6 DECwindow system either EDX or TPU can be specified.D
- MCL_UTL_EDIT_INIT - This defines what start up file (if any) - should be passed to the editor at start up.

A Several conventions are followed in various commands that can be B issued. These various notational conventions are described in the following sections. L B.1 Dates and times
A There are three basic ways of entering dates and times, they are:
- Absolute time
- Delta time
- Combination time
H Anywhere a time can be specified as input, any of the above formats can be used. 0 B.1.1 Absolute time
G An absolute time is a specific date and/or time of day. The format for an absolute time is:
