FThese commands will be discussed in the following sections, grouped byHtasks. The most common qualifiers used for these commands are: /LOG and F/CONFIRM. /LOG causes each completed operation to issue a note to the Buser. /CONFIRM requests the user to verify a selected job name is )correct. Thus, you can enter the command:

 $$ SCHEDULE INCREMENT DEPT_QUERY/LOG    




FTo advance the start date of the job DEPT_QUERY to the next scheduled Hstart time. The user gets a message from the system indicating that the 2job was submitted, because of the qualifier /LOG .

FIf you wanted to copy the job definition of DEPT_QUERY to another job Fnamed QUERY_ALL, you would have to indicate the job name to be copied 5from followed by the name of the job to be copied to:

 %$ SCHEDULE COPY DEPT_QUERY QUERY_ALL    




?This copies all of the job definition data from the source job 'DEPT_QUERY to the target job QUERY_ALL.O

4.3 Creating a job



DThere are two different ways of creating a job. Any of these can be Gused to create any job, but you will find that each has its advantages for certain kinds of jobs.

  1. SCHEDULE CREATE/JOB is the general purpose command I for creating a job definition. By specifying the needed qualifiers all * the attributes of the job can be set up.D
  2. SCHEDULE COPY/JOB is useful when there is an B existing job similar to the one you want to set up. You can use I SCHEDULE COPY/JOB to copy the existing job to another F name and then make whatever modifications are necessary to the copy.
