2.4.5 Hetrogeneous clusters

CA hetrogeneous cluster is an environment where the hardware is one Dlarge cluster (i.e. shared HSC's, disk drives, tape drives) but the %systems in the cluster are run as twoFor more groups. Each group has its own AUTHORIZE file, queue file and Csystem disk. Each group would also have it's own SCHEDULE database.

EThe VMS lock manager is distributed across the whole HARDWARE clusterDregardless of whether the system disk is the same or different. The GSCHEDULE system uses the lock manager to synchronize activity ?between the various server processes. These locks must also be #partitioned along these same lines.

>There are three parameters¹⁹ which control how the ASCHEDULE System partitions locks. They are listed below.

CLUSTER_LOCK_GROUP This parameter contains a single letter (A...Z) that is used to/differentiate locks between cluster partitions.H
CLUSTER_MEMBERS This members tells the system what nodes make up the partition.H
CLUSTER_ALIAS This parameter is used if you have not defined (in NCP) a clusterGalias. If defined it is only used internally to group node information.

2.4.6 System database

GThe files that make up the SCHEDULE database are listed below.

SCH0_CONTROL.DAT - The control file contains all the static attributes ofAall jobs, directories and calendars known to the system. The FDL @description of this file is contained in SCHEDULE_SDEFDL.FDL. A BDatatrieve record layout is also include in SCHEDULE_SDEDEF.DTR.).I
SCH0_QUEUE.DAT - The queue file contains all the scheduling queue information.CThis information represents all active jobs in the system. The FDL =description of this file is contained in SCHEDULE_QCRFDL.FDL.J
SCH0_HISTORY.DAT - The history file contains a record of all queue F state changes that have occurred by any job in the queue file. This informationCcontains such information as when the job ran, how long it ran and Fother such information. The FDL description of this file is contained Fin SCHEDULE_HSTFDL.FDL. A Datatrieve record layout is also include in SCHEDULE_HSTDEF.DTR.

GAll these three files are standard RMS files. On occasion it is useful Ato re-organize and re-claim free space in these files. A command 6procedure has been provided to perform this operation.
