cplay

Copy a layout file.

The cplay command is used to copy a layout file to new layout file name.


General Format

cplay from_layout_name to_layout_name [-options]

edlay

Edit the designated layout definition file.

The edlay command is used to edit the designated layout file in the selected editor.

Options

-columns=number

The COLUMNS option specifies how many columns to use when listing just the item name. The default is four columns.

-node=target_node

The hostname option specifies what hostname (either local or remote) you want the operation performed on. -hostname may be substituted for -node.

-noheading

The NOHEADING removes the heading information from the directory listing.

-notrailing

The NOTRAILING removes the trailing information from the directory listing.

-output=output_file

The OUTPUT option sends all output to a text file. Output can be printed or displayed as needed.

-template=/schedule_library/template_db.schedule

The template option formats the directory output as it is defined in the template file /schedule_library/template_db.schedule . This output can be used for a variety of reasons and can be output to a file using the OUTPUT option . The supplied template file extracts all database information into a format suitable for insertion if desired.

mklay

Create a new layout.

The mklay command will add a new layout to the database.

mklay [-options] layout_name

Startup files are used to determine the configuration and appearance of the MOTIF display when it is initialized. These startup files may be worked on from the command prompt using the startup file commands.

catsta or moresta

Display the contents of a startup definition.

The catsta command displays the contents of an entire startup definition. moresta displays the contents of a startup definition one page at a time.

-output=output_file

The OUTPUT option sends all output to a text file. Output can be printed or displayed as needed.

-env[=prefix_string] or [=(prefix_string,format)]

The environmental variable option requests that all job information be output to a file containing a list of enviroment variables. Every field in the control record is listed in the file as an environment variable. The environment variable name is constructed by prefixing the field name with the provide string. If none is provided a default value of SC is used.

The format defines the way that environmental variables are output. The default output specification is: "$export %s=\" %s\" "" (ksh), "$setenv %s=\" %s\" "" (csh) which produces the following format style.


 
   SC_ACCOUNT = "DEVELOPM" 
 

Alternate output styles may be created by changing the format field.
